Anjalee at the McMichael
My dear friend Anjalee is a poet and fiction writer who is also completing her PhD in English literature at York University.
At the time of this portrait session, I was feeling inspired and excited to create. I wanted to capture Anjalee in a setting that reflected her creativity and writing background — think * it’s giving author *.
Both Anjalee and I have experienced our share of writer’s block and creative slumps. When that happens, a trip to an art gallery or spending time in nature often helps spark my inspiration. The McMichael Canadian Art Collection blends art and nature beautifully, making it an ideal backdrop for Anjalee’s portraits.
Anjalee nailed the author vibes with her pink outfit, which was both professional and playful. I love how the bright colours pop against the stark winter landscape. The light dusting of snow (not a paid actor) brings a touch of magic to the photos.
